May 4, 2016 — Siemens Healthcare today introduced its new Siemens Healthineers brand. The new brand highlights Siemens Healthcare`s pioneering spirit and engineering expertise in the healthcare sector. Siemens Healthineers AG (formerly Siemens Healthcare, Siemens Medical Solutions, Siemens Medical Systems) is the parent company of several medical technology companies headquartered in Erlangen, Germany. The company goes back to a small family business in Berlin, co-founded by Werner von Siemens. Siemens Healthineers is affiliated with the Siemens AG Group. The name Siemens Medical Solutions was adopted in 2001 and changed to Siemens Healthcare in 2008. In 2015, Siemens appointed Bernd Montag as Global CEO.
