Our teams in Goondiwindi, Ipswich, Roma, Stanthorpe and Toowoomba provide free general counselling, counselling, case procedures and referral services to the community. Regardless of name changes and growth over time, our mission has remained constant. We do our best to support the community we work with, so that people who turn to TASC trust us, appreciate our advice, and feel welcome and safe. We thank our staff and volunteers who help support our communities and their legal rights and continue to deliver justice. Working with people in their local communities, our lawyers and advocates recognized that legal issues were often part of or exacerbated by broader social and economic challenges. TASC operates in Toowoomba and South West Queensland to ensure disadvantaged people have access to free expert advice. From a small community ministry in Toowoomba, we now serve over 3,000 people a year in a geographical area that spans 400,000 square kilometres in South West Queensland and a further 6,000 square kilometres in the Ipswich area. We operate in other areas such as North and South Burnett and Gympie. We also provide outreach services in rural and regional areas of Greater South West Queensland, in towns such as Warwick, Dalby, St George and Chinchilla. Here are some examples of how we can help clients: TASC may be able to help you in some minor criminal cases if you are brought before Toowoomba First Instance Court, Ipswich First Instance Court, Roma First Instance Court and some regional courts. The Toowoomba Community Legal Service was founded in 1982 by a dedicated group of volunteer lawyers. We found that advocacy became a natural complement to our services, which led to a name change to The Advocacy and Support Centre (TASC) in 2004.
